"Making the world a better place, one T-shirt at a time" -Kenny Lambert, JADFA
Kenny Lambert, the founder and visionary of Just A Dad From Akron goes beyond fashion trends to tell a deeper story of resilience, pride, and unity. Beginning his journey of sobriety on May 16, 2018, Kenny was inspired to create an uplifting clothing brand called "Just a Dad from Akron."

Kenny's early childhood inspired his craft through customizing hand-me-down clothes and he would draw on and distress them to make them his own. As a brand owner, Kenny incorporates Akron into everything he produces by using elements like the Akron skyline to emphasize his love for his city.

His path hasn't been without challenges. As a creative, Kenny has faced burnout and the struggle of staying true to his purpose while resisting pressure to appeal to trends or certain crowds. He focuses on creating designs that resonate with his passion by creating uplifting and purpose driven apparel that inspires hope and brings people together.

Kenny's resilience is the cornerstone of his success. Just six years ago, he was homeless on the very street where he now owns and operates his storefront at 937 Kenmore Blvd. His remarkable journey from hardship to humble business owner is a testament to his determination. Through his brand, Kenny gives back ten-fold to his community by hosting events that foster connection in his community. The Annual Christmas Giveaway in partnership with local organizations, collects and distributes gifts to children in Akron, spreading holiday cheer and bringing positive energy into the city.

Kenny's advice to entrepreneurs is simple, yet powerful:

"Never quit. Your dreams can come true as long as you keep working and never give up. The moment you give up, the next day could be the day that your dreams come to light."

He emphasizes the importance of networking, meeting new people, and staying humble; all of which have played pivotal roles in his own brand success.
At Platinum22, we're honored to shine a spotlight on Kenny Lambert and his incredible journey. His dedication to fashion with community impact is an inspiration to us all.
